Performance genetics for athletes

Your performance, mapped.

Perform better, for longer.

Modekal starts with an athlete's DNA, then learns from everything that follows: their wearable, their training, their schedule. Our machine-learning models read each new piece of data against that genetic profile and tell the athlete what to do next, and when.

Your data does the work. You get the next step.

The problem

Most people find out how their body works after it breaks.

Who's building it

A genomics physician who has served more than 30,000 patients, a commercial leader from Apple and Samsung, an engineer with nine patents pending, and a marketer with two decades of technology storytelling.

OverviewThe problem

Most people find out how their body works after it breaks.

Training and nutrition are designed for an average person who doesn't exist. Medicine waits until something goes wrong. The signals to know sooner are already there, in your DNA, your wearable and your biomarkers, but they live in separate places, and no one connects them into a plan that changes as you do.

Your tracker is the dashboard. Your DNA tells you what you're driving.

A fitness tracker gives you every gauge: speed, heart rate, distance, recovery. What it can't tell you is what you're driving. In a family sedan, 7,000 RPM is the redline. In a Formula 1 car, it's barely warming up. Same number on the dashboard, completely different meaning. Modekal reads the design from an athlete's DNA, so every number on the dashboard finally makes sense.

OverviewThe solution

Modekal shows you how your body works, before it breaks.

We start with your DNA to build your baseline: where you're strong, where you're vulnerable, and how you respond to training, nutrition, supplementation and recovery. Then we layer in what your body is doing right now, from your wearable and your biomarkers, and connect it to the latest clinical and nutritional science. The result isn't a report. It's a route: a plan for every day, built for you, that adapts as your body changes.

01 · Once

Map the starting point

A single genetic test captures how this athlete's body is built to perform. Everything that follows is measured against it.

02 · Every day

Read the signals

Wearable data, training logs, quick check-ins and test results flow in automatically as they happen.

03 · Throughout the day

Guide the next move

Short, plain-language prompts on training, nutrition, recovery and sleep, timed to the moment: first thing in the morning, after a workout, before a game.

04 · Every month

Re-tune the route

Bodies adapt over weeks, so each month the plan is recalibrated around how the athlete has actually responded.

OverviewInside the app

One app. The whole day, mapped.

Modekal lives on the athlete's phone. It reads the morning, guides the day and sets up tomorrow, and it always shows its working.

OverviewBuilt to protect

Your DNA never has to leave your hands.

You can change a password. You can't change your DNA. So Modekal is built to keep the most personal data there is on the athlete's own phone, protected by security designed for the next generation of threats.

On-device analysis

The genetic analysis and our models run on the athlete's own phone. Raw DNA data never has to sit on our servers.

Post-quantum encryption

Data is protected with post-quantum cryptography, built to stay secure even against the quantum computers of the future.

Off the cloud

Personally identifiable information stays off our servers. The cloud handles sign-in, not the athlete's story.

Full visibility

Athletes decide who sees what, can see who accessed their data and when, and can revoke access at any time.

Built by Vincent Aliquo, sole inventor of HADES, a cyber-physical security platform used across defense, industry and education.

OverviewWhy now

DNA sequencing got cheap. Useful answers didn't.

Most genetic tests deliver a long report and leave you to work out what it means. Modekal turns the same data into a short list of things to do, and keeps it current.

01

DNA sequencing got cheap

Sequencing a human genome cost about $95 million in 2001. Today it costs a few hundred dollars. A complete genetic profile, not a bare-minimum panel, is now within reach of athletes themselves.

02

DNA makes every number smarter

Athletes already wear the devices. Read alongside their DNA, the same heart-rate, sleep and training data reveals what's actually working for that athlete.

03

Too much data, not enough wisdom

Athletes and coaches are buried in dashboards and apps. What they're missing is a clear answer to a simple question: what should I do next?

04

The edge is personal

Training built around an athlete's own biology is a real competitive edge, today and for the rest of their career: better performance, faster recovery and a longer, healthier time in the game.

OverviewWhere it fits

Not another athlete management system.

An athlete management system gives coaches the wide view of the whole team. Modekal zooms in on one athlete at a time, so each player can understand and manage their own body and performance.

The team view

Athlete management systems

Built for coaching staff to run the whole roster: workouts, scheduling and team-wide training load.

Teams already have one, and Modekal doesn't try to replace it or add another screen for staff.

The athlete view

Personal optimization, powered by genetics

The athlete is in control: they decide who sees their data, can see who has accessed it and when, and can revoke access at any time.
Their DNA is processed on their own phone, not in the cloud.
Recommendations on training, recovery and nutrition, tailored to their biology.
All sensitive data stays on the athlete's phone, private and secure.
Full pictureThe long view

The whole career, not one season.

Our goal is to help athletes perform better, avoid injury and enjoy longer, more successful careers. The plan that prepares them for game day keeps working long after the last one, because it's built on the one thing that never changes: their DNA.

01
Day one
Training starts from the athlete's own biology, not the team average.
02
Playing
Every session, meal and night's sleep measured against their genetic baseline.
03
Developing
Season by season, the plan grows with the athlete.
04
Late career
As the body changes, the plan changes with it, protecting what's been built and keeping the athlete healthy and competitive to the final whistle.
05
Life after sport
Leave the game in great shape, and stay there. The plan keeps working for life.
Full pictureWhere the method comes from

Proven one athlete at a time.

Long before Modekal had a name, Dr. Vuk Devrnja was doing this work by hand. He analyzed each player's DNA, used AI to help interpret the results, then met with every athlete one-on-one to build their training, recovery and nutrition plan.

Young basketball players developed in Belgrade under his method have gone on to be scouted by NCAA programs in the United States. Modekal turns that hands-on process into something every athlete can carry with them.

Full pictureThe science, honestly

Enough science to start. Honest about the rest.

Genetic research already tells us a great deal about how a body builds muscle, burns fuel, repairs tissue and recovers. That's more than enough to build a smarter starting point for every athlete, and it's where Modekal begins. This is a young science, and it's moving fast.

Medicine has never dealt in certainties, and neither do we. A genetic result is a starting point, tested every month against how the athlete's body actually responds.

How an insight earns its place
Start with the genetics
A variant linked to how the body handles training, fuel or recovery.
Test it against real data
Weeks of sleep, training and wearable data either back it up or don't.
Keep it, adjust it or drop it
The plan follows the evidence, and confidence grows with every month of data.
Full pictureThe build

One athlete profile. More insight with every phase.

Already built: a working prototype that reads a raw DNA file and runs the genetic analysis on the phone itself, so the data never has to leave the athlete's hands.

Phase 1
DNA plus wearables
The genetic baseline combined with wearable data through Apple HealthKit.
Phase 2
Medical history and blood work
Medical records add the athlete's history, and blood panels show what's happening in the body right now.
Phase 3
Deeper biology
Methylation, microbiome, proteomics and metabolomics testing add new layers, showing how genes are being expressed and how the body is responding over time.
